Terms of Service
1. Who we are
LSTN ("we," "us") is a Mac application and accompanying web service operated by Bryan Lord. Contact: hi@getlstn.com.
2. What LSTN does
LSTN is a desktop application that reads your email, messages, calendar, and other personal data on your Mac, synthesizes a daily Brief of what matters, and presents it inside a focused inbox. iPad and iPhone apps are in development. Synthesis is performed by sending batched, partially-redacted excerpts to Anthropic's Claude API via our Cloudflare Worker (see Privacy Policy for what crosses that boundary).
3. Account, eligibility, and access
You must be at least 18 years old to use LSTN. You agree to provide accurate registration information, keep your password secure, and notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. One account per person. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that misuse the service.
4. Subscription, billing, and refunds
LSTN is a paid subscription. Today's price is $14.99 per month, billed in advance through Stripe. The subscription auto-renews monthly until you cancel.
- You may cancel at any time from getlstn.com/account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- No refunds for partial periods. If you cancel mid-month, you keep access through the period you've already paid for; no pro-rata refund is issued.
- If a payment fails, your subscription may be paused. You'll have a short grace period to update your card before access is suspended.
- Pricing and features are subject to change. We will notify you by email at least 14 days before any price increase that would affect your subscription.
5. License
Subject to these Terms and your active subscription, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the LSTN Mac application (and future iOS/iPadOS apps) for your personal use. You may not resell, redistribute, sublicense, reverse-engineer, or modify the software except as permitted by applicable law.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use LSTN for any unlawful purpose or in violation of others' rights.
- Attempt to bypass authentication, rate limits, or any other technical control.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise interfere with the service or its underlying APIs.
- Resell, sublicense, or use LSTN to provide a competing service.
- Use the Anthropic proxy beyond personal use of the LSTN apps. (We monitor for abuse and may revoke access.)
7. Beta status and warranty
LSTN is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. While we work hard to keep things stable, we make no guarantees of uptime, accuracy of synthesis, or preservation of data on your device.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.
9. Termination
You may stop using LSTN and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or use the service in a way that creates risk for us or other users. On termination, your right to use the software ends; data on your Mac remains under your control.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms over time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Indiana, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Indiana, and you consent to that venue.
